Get Ready with Me

I recently celebrated my birthday where I put in a little more effort than usual, so I decided to do a “Get Ready with Me” post, since I always have so much fun reading about other people’s GRwM. 😀

Step 1: Apply a base coat of eyeshadow.

A lot of people use an eyeshadow primer as their first step, but I find my eyelids are not very oily, instead the primer makes the eyeshadow very hard to apply and blend, so I normally skip this step. 🙂

I used the shade Suspect from Naked 2 as an overall base coat.

Step 2: Apply a darker shade on the outer third corners

I used the shade Snakebite and applied it to the outer third of my eyes. The key here is to blend well with the shade applied previously, and reapply if necessary.

step 2

Step 3: Apply a black shade on the outer bottom of the eyelids

I only do this for special occasions, because I find the black shades gives the eyes a lot more dimension and definition. I did it only towards the bottom of the upper eyelids.

Step 4: Eyeliner & Mascara

I used Stila’s smudge stick waterproof eyeliner for the upper eyelids, and a Milani Liquif’eye liner in the shade Green on the bottom outer third of my eyes. Then curled my eyelashes, and applied some mascara.

Step 5: Eyebrows and highlights

Next is to define and deepen up my eyebrows, which I find is one of the most important steps, since eyebrows help frame the face. The last step is to apply some highlights on the inner corners of my eyes for highlights.

step5

I skipped lipsticks, just applied some lipbalm, and with a little concealer, I was ready! 😀
